How to knit basic triangular shawl

Here we would like to share with you our little formula for increases and a simple easy to use pattern for triangular shawl. It will work with any yarn and you can change from stocking stitch to garter stitch and more as you like as far as you keep the increases same and in the same place.

Stocking stitch Row 1 -knit, Row 2 –purl.

RS – right side

WS – wrong side

YO – yarn over

Triangular shawl pattern

Cast on 3 sts.

Row 1 – k1, yo, K1, yo, k1.

Row 2 – purl all sts.

Row 3 - K1, yo, k1, yo, k1,yo,k1, yo, k1 = 9sts RS. Attach marker on the middle (centre)stitch.

Row 4 – Purl all sts.

Row 5 - Row 5 - k1,yo,k1, yo, knit until marker, yo, k1(centre st), yo, knit until 2 sts remain, yo, k1, yo, k1.

Row 6 – purl 3, purl next yo into back of the stitch, purl until 4 sts remain, purl yo into back of the stitch, purl3.

Repeat rows 5 and 6 until finished!
